There’s still some lingering swell in the water from Hurricane Erin, offering up a few playful leftovers for those willing to hunt them down. The 8 AM high tide is definitely putting a damper on things early, making conditions look pretty soft overall, with most sets breaking in the waist-high range and rolling through a bit slow. That said, things should start to improve as the tide drops, the lower tide window later this morning into midday looks like your best bet for more consistent shape and a little more push. NNE winds are on it early, adding a bit of surface texture, but they shouldn’t be strong enough to totally blow it out. Expect some light bump, but still manageable if you’re in the right zone. Grab a board with some extra volume, keep expectations mellow, and you might just find a few fun runners. Could be a nice mellow session before the winds shift more onshore later.
