Afternoon Update: There are still some fun looking waves out there at the moment. However, with the higher tide it is not as consistent as it was at the time of the last update. Most waves were in the waist high range and there was a bit of a wait for the stomach high sets that would actually line up, there are some still out there. The tide is making it a little bit softer out there and not as many were reforming into the inside. Occasionally one will line up all the way through to the inside. It still looks worth it though as long as you are okay with fighting the drift. Have fun if you go! Check back in the morning for another update.
To all the new UNCW and CFCC students…welcome from a UNCW alumnus. However, please be respectful and wear your leash. You didn't live through the 2 block surf zone we use to have so please follow the rules of the beach so that everyone who accesses the beach is safe. Wearing a leash is a sacrifice we made to open up the beach for more surfing area. Wearing your leash protects other surfers and swimmers. It's also a $250 fine. Also, please leave any attitudes out of the water. If you were a pro we'd be watching you on the computer surfing against Slater. Being respectful isn't just for the college students. That goes for everyone. Thanks for understanding and enjoy a special place to live. Click on links directly below to learn about surfing regulations in WB and surfing etiquette.
