Mid-Morning Update: We'd like to let everyone know that fellow surfer and friend Michael Whitmore passed away yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. It's looking a 1/2 logo better out front now with the low tide. Still nothing really great but a rideable wave for sure. Check around and try to find a sandbar thats working and you should be able to get a few little ones. The wind is starting to pick up so I would think about getting on before it picks up to much. Check back later for another update.
To all the new UNCW and CFCC students…welcome from a UNCW alumnus. However, please be respectful and wear your leash. You didn't live through the 2 block surf zone we use to have so please follow the rules of the beach so that everyone who accesses the beach is safe. Wearing a leash is a sacrifice we made to open up the beach for more surfing area. Wearing your leash protects other surfers and swimmers. It's also a $250 fine. Also, please leave any attitudes out of the water. If you were a pro we'd be watching you on the computer surfing against Slater. Being respectful isn't just for the college students. That goes for everyone. Thanks for understanding and enjoy a special place to live. Click on links directly below to learn about surfing regulations in WB and surfing etiquette.
