The 2010 Emerging Green Business Conference will highlight emerging green industries and innovative technology in a number of areas including solar energy, nuclear energy, water resources, recycling and solid waste. At the same time, attendees will be able to talk with key federal, state and private partners which can assist growing green businesses and green job creation through identifying available capital resources.  This conference is ideal for those with a business or product idea that is lacking capital to get to market or for those that have a current business that they are looking to grow in a sustainable manner.

  • R3 Environmental (Solid Waste, Recycling) : Robin Grathwol will highlight this innovative waste-to-energy company which has recently been awarded the contract to take over operations in New Hanover County handling the current solid waste stream and recycling
  • Clean Marine Solutions (Marina Power-Wash Wastewater Treatment and Recycling): David Flagler, CEO, will highlight how CMS progressed from a working prototype to a computer operated production model that has generated international attention. He will also share his experience working with the North Carolina Division of Water Quality to develop an environmental compliance template that customer marinas and boatyards can use to streamline the permitting process. CMS was able to achieve both of these goals with help from a 2009  NC Green Business Fund grant.
  • Birdseye Renewable Energy (Energy, Solar): Brian C. Bednar will be discussing the partnership between his company and MP2 Capital to build solar projects in NC including a 2.3 MW solar array for Progress Energy Carolinas.
