Does anybody have any recommendations on where to stay? Has anyone stayed at the place on the bottom of the wblivesurf homepage (blu surf peru)? If so, how was the experience? Thank you for your help.

yea, I've been twice
the Blu Surf place is in Playa Hermosa which is like the North Shore of Hawaii, south of Lima, maybe 1/2 hour
the surf is usually VERY BIG, powerful with thick waves, big rocks, urchins,
always waves, not as tubey as Hawaii but tubes can be really big
wannasurf has pretty accurate break descriptions; Punta Rocas, Senioritas, La Isla, Penascal
Oscar Morante operates Pico Alto Surf Camp which is probably the oldest surf camp there
Peruvian surfers are nice, but tough and deserve respect
great experiences, drink Pisco Sour
8)

perfect long lefts in the north; Centinela, Chicama, Pacasmayo, Cabo Blanco (killer of boards) and many in Piura
really good right a bit further south

The soul of surfing lives in Peru, you can feel her presence

Note: for a taste of Peru here locally, try the asparagus and grapes at Sam's Club
my friend, Pepe, from NCSU way back when, grows and exports produce world wide
he's a real character; used to be the Minister of Agriculture de Peru
I had not seen him since 1979 when I went for a visit back in 2005
I was in Mancora, after a long colorful bus ride from Lima with the peru-flu
my best bud, Chino and family had gone down the beach to visit some family friends
we were all strolling on the beach between Mancora and Organos enjoying some sweet tide pools and the beautiful beach
well who do we find plopped down in his on private tidal pool, bur Sen'or Pepe, enjoyin a very cool drink
he had a killer beach house rental and we were invited in for drinks and conversation
super nice guy, really spiritual reunion

What is the spot called a few hours south of lima? Can't remember the name but that place is like an amusement park. You walk out right to the point break and then ride it all the way back in to shore. Rinse/repeat. Freakin rediculous

my amigo, Daniel, sent me a note yesterday gloating on all the surf he had the last few months
he had many sessions in the north at Lobitos
he said many gringos tried to drown at Pico Alto a few days back
I told him our summer was not so good and his sister Danielle better be nice to me
